José started started his collaboration with Atena in 2018 as an Operating Partner involved in designing and implementing Value Creation Plans in selected deals with significant operational improvement potential. José is a co-investor and played a key role in Atena's restructuring of Malo Clinic.
José is an executive with a vast industrial experience, particularly on the automotive sector. He worked 28 years for Delphi Automotive Systems-DEEDS where he was Operations Director for the EMEA region responsible for plants in 12 Countries, 22.000 employees, and sales of €2Bn.
He led the start-up and development of different new sites as well a significant number of restructuring processes.
He also acted at global level (Europe, México, China and Brazil) as Global Lean EOS & Operational Excellence Director, developing and implementing the operating system for the different Delphi sites.
José has an EMBA from ISCTE in Portugal, he also has an MSc from ISCTE and a BSc from ISEL – Engineering Institute in Lisbon.
